Can Labels

Many products can be stored in a can, most commonly cider and beer and in the ever growing market for craft beer. But in more recent times juices and water is also becoming more popular in cans as well as some wines for picnics or festivals, this is largely due to its eco-friendly credentials. It is easily recycled and only takes 60 days for an aluminium can to be recycled, remanufactured and back into retail!

There isn’t much of a difference between bottle and can labels. Some cans are printed without have a printed label on, this is called screen printing and is expensive on shorter runs. A custom can label will often cover the whole of the main cylinder surface of the can, allowing you to express the exotic flavours with the most creative artwork to entice your thirsty customers.

Alternatively, we have Roll Labels

Roll labels are labels that are supplied in a roll form, with multiple labels printed on a continuous roll of material. Roll labels can be used for a variety of purposes, such as product labeling, barcode labeling, and packaging labeling.

Roll labels can be made from a variety of materials, including paper, polypropylene, and more, depending on the application and intended use of the label.

So why use a roll label?

  • Cost-effective: Roll labels are typically more cost-effective than other labeling methods, especially for larger quantities of labels. This can be particularly advantageous for canning operations that produce large quantities of canned goods.
  • Customisation: Roll labels can be produced in a variety of sizes, shapes, and designs, allowing for a high level of customization. This is particularly important for canning operations that may have unique branding and label designs that they want to incorporate into their products.
  • Durability: Roll labels can be made with durable materials and adhesives, making them resistant to moisture, heat, and other environmental factors that can affect the quality of the label. This is particularly important for canned goods that may be exposed to harsh environments during transportation and storage.
  • Easy to apply: Roll labels are designed to be easy to apply, especially when using a label dispenser. This can help to save time and increase efficiency in the labeling process, which is particularly important in high-volume canning operations.
  • Regulatory compliance: Roll labels can include all the regulatory information required by law, such as the product’s ingredients, nutritional information, and any other information that may be required by law.
  • Branding: Roll labels can help to enhance the branding of a canned product. The labels can be printed with custom designs and branding to help distinguish the product from competitors and create a memorable visual identity.
  • Consistency: Roll labels can ensure consistency in label design across all cans, helping to maintain a cohesive brand image and prevent confusion among consumers.

Labelling Materials for Can Products

Waterproof Polyester Labels

Waterproof labels are good for cans because they can withstand exposure to moisture, which is a common issue in canned products. When cans are exposed to water or moisture, the labels can become damaged or detached, which can compromise the integrity of the product and affect its shelf life.

In addition to their durability and moisture resistance, waterproof labels can also provide a high-quality, professional look and feel to the product. They can be printed with vibrant colors and high-quality graphics, which can help the product stand out on store shelves and attract customers.

Matt White Paper Labels

Matt white paper labels are generally less expensive than other label materials, making them a cost-effective option for manufacturers who produce large quantities of canned products. Matt white paper labels are also easy to print with a range of printing techniques, including digital and offset printing. They also provide good ink adhesion, which ensures that the label remains legible and attractive over time.

Metallic Silver and Gold Labels

Metallic labels can create a shiny, reflective surface that can enhance the appearance of canned products. This can be particularly effective for products like gourmet food items or luxury beverages. Overall, these labels can provide a high-quality, premium look and feel to the product. This can create a perception of high value and quality among customers, which can help increase sales and brand loyalty.
