Craft Beer Labels

Craft beer labels are labels used for beer produced by independent breweries that specialize in producing small batches of beer using traditional brewing methods. These labels are designed to reflect the unique and creative nature of craft beer and are often more colorful and artistic than labels used for mass-produced beers.

These labels may also feature unique illustrations or designs that reflect the personality of the beer or the brewery. They may also include information about the ingredients used in the beer, the brewing process, or the story behind the beer.

Alternatively, we have Roll Labels

Roll labels are labels that are supplied in a roll form, with multiple labels printed on a continuous roll of material. Roll labels can be used for a variety of purposes, such as product labeling, barcode labeling, and packaging labeling.

Roll labels can be made from a variety of materials, including paper, polypropylene, and more, depending on the application and intended use of the label.

So why use a roll label?

  • Customisation: Roll labels can be produced in a variety of sizes, shapes, and designs, allowing for a high level of customization. This is particularly important for craft beer producers who often have unique branding and label designs that they want to incorporate into their products.
  • Cost-effective: Roll labels are typically more cost-effective than other labeling methods, especially for larger quantities of labels. This can be particularly advantageous for craft beer producers who may produce smaller batches of beer.
  • Easy to apply: Roll labels are designed to be easy to apply, especially when using a label dispenser. This can help to save time and increase efficiency in the labeling process.
  • Durable: Roll labels can be made with durable materials and adhesives, making them resistant to moisture, heat, and other environmental factors that can affect the quality of the label.
  • Branding: Roll labels can help to enhance the branding of a craft beer product. The labels can be printed with custom designs and branding to help distinguish the product from competitors and create a memorable visual identity.

Where can you put a Craft Beer Label on a bottle?

Front label – This is the most common placement for a craft beer label, and it is usually located in the center of the bottle’s front surface. The front label typically includes the beer name, brewery name, beer style, ABV, and any other pertinent information.

Back label –  The back label is typically used to provide additional information about the beer, such as tasting notes, ingredients, and brewing process. It can also include government warnings and other regulatory information.

Neck label – The neck label is located at the top of the bottle, just below the cap. It is a smaller label that can include the brewery name or logo, beer name, or other design elements.

Side label –  Some breweries choose to place a label on the side of the bottle, either in addition to or instead of a front label. This allows for more space for design elements or additional information.

Labelling Materials for Craft Beer Bottles

Waterproof Polyester Labels

Waterproof labels are good for beer labels because they offer excellent resistance to moisture and humidity. When beer bottles are stored in refrigerators or ice buckets, they can be exposed to condensation or moisture, which can cause paper labels to peel or become damaged. This can make the label difficult to read and can detract from the overall appearance of the bottle.

Matt White Paper Labels

Matt white paper labels have a clean, modern look that is well-suited to beer labels. They provide a non-glossy, uncoated finish that can help to give a natural or vintage feel to the label. Matt white paper labels are also generally more cost-effective than other label materials. This makes them a great option for smaller craft breweries or for limited edition or seasonal beers where cost is a consideration.

Gloss White Paper Labels

Gloss white labels have a shiny finish that can make the label stand out on the shelf. This can be especially beneficial for brands that want to create a premium or high-end image. These labels offer a high-quality print too with vibrant colours and sharp clear text.
